Property Tax Information
The 2004 property tax rate for the Village of Montgomery is .4985% of a property's Equalized Assessed Valuation (EAV), down from .5009% in 2003. This means that on a house with an EAV of $100,000, the Village will receive approximately $498.50 in property taxes for the 2004 tax year. The amount of property taxes paid to the Village is only a very small portion of a homeowner's total property tax bill. Other taxing bodies that may appear on a tax bill are the Library District, School District, Park District, Forest Preserve District, Community College District, Fire Protection District, and others. | Montgomery's location provides superior access to all modes of transportation. Interstate 88 is just 10 minutes from the major commercial and industrial centers of Montgomery. U.S. Route 30 is the major east-west corridor, while Illinois Route 25 and 31 along with Orchard Road are the major north-south corridors. O'Hare and Midway International Airports are only 45 minutes away. Montgomery is also served by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway with commuter access minutes away in downtown Aurora. |
