For Immediate Release
MONTGOMERY, IL-The Montgomery Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), with a matching grant from the Kane County Economic Development Advisory Board, has begun a Strategic Plan designed to develop long term organizational and development goals for the Corporation. The MEDC was awarded a 2004 Kane County Small Cities Grant, in the amount of $10,000, in October 2004. The MEDC will match the $10,000 grant for a total Strategic Plan cost of $20,000, plus expenses.
The strategic planning process officially began in March 2005, and will be concluded by August 2005. Included in this process is a business survey that was mailed to over 213 businesses in the Village of Montgomery. The survey asks questions regarding the economic and business climate of the Village.
MEDC Executive Director, Teresa Nortillo, stated, “I am very excited to take this next step in the formation of the MEDC. I strongly believe in a plan that outlines where the organization should focus its attention. There are a lot of directions that the MEDC could be going in, most of them good. However, specific directions should be analyzed in order of their importance. Obtaining input from the community businesses leaders will add a lot of value to this process, and help prioritize competing directions.”
MEDC Chairman, Denny Lee, added, “With the changing business climate, it is important to have a plan that points us in the right direction. “
The MEDC is asking that the business surveys be returned as soon as possible in order for the Strategic Plan to be completed on time. Should you have any questions regarding the Strategic Plan or the business survey, please contact Teresa A. Nortillo at (630) 897-6748, ext 11.
