Dollar Tree Opens New Retail Store in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY-The Greater Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce (GMACC) announced today that Dollar Tree has opened a new retail store in Montgomery on 1800 Douglas Road, managed by Mike Montalbano. The new facility will occupy approximately 13,000 square feet of space.

Founded in 1986, Dollar Tree is the nation’s largest $1 discount variety store chain. Headquartered in Chesapeake, Virginia, Dollar Tree operates over 3,200 stores in the 48 contiguous states. Dollar Tree has recently expanded into the grocery business including frozen foods and dairy at some stores.

Alice Sutcliff, Chamber President stated, “Dollar Tree has a great variety of seasonal items. The store is a great compliment to the Douglas Road corridor."

Marilyn Michelini, Village President added, “I am thrilled and excited that Dollar Tree is opening in Montgomery. I have received many positive comments from Montgomery residents who are looking forward to shopping at this new store.”

The Village of Montgomery, GMACC and the Montgomery Economic Development Corporation held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony on August 31, 2007 at 9:00 AM at 1800 Douglas Road to welcome Dollar Tree to the Village of Montgomery.
